Duck bowling...

Friday was Connor's good buddy Michael's birthday party at a local "Duck Pin" Bowling alley. Which, honestly, I thought it was a name for kids' place. Um... who knew it is actually a type of bowling? Did anyone else know this? It is so awesome! And the boys had such a blast bowling! The balls actually stayed on the lanes (thanks to the bumpers blocking the gutter). I had visions of gutter ball after gutter ball! And the boys not having so much fun.

Ok so I am a bit of a germ a-phob and the thought of my kids putting on these bowling shoes that have been worn by MANY... well I will just say I got over it after seeing them... aren't these the cutest? Yes, I know my boys are cute (LOL!) but I am referring to the shoes...

Here I'll make it easier...

These are the size of the bowling balls...for all ages! crazy right.

Serious moment... "be the ball... BE... the ball."

Score!!

Yummy cake...

I have to say this place did a GREAT job! The guys who ran the party were "all over it" as far as moving things along, helping the kids bowl, keeping them "in line" so to speak. So now Connor wants his party there! So all those coming to Connor's B-Day Party... get your game on b/c if we do have it there... the adults WILL be joining in! Hey, I want to go to the "extreme rock n bowl" they have a laser lights and a disco ball going playing music. Come on, if I'm bowling... I'm going "Jersey Style"!!!

Happy Weekend!

Pool Club Now Open...

The Weather "lady" called for rain today! But the rain has been held at bay most of the morning... so we decided to go in the pool that daddy just set up yesterday! The boys have been "patiently" waiting (note: HEAVY Sarcasm) since bright and EARLY this morning... I think Connor has been asking since 6AM. I do have to say this is one of the best investments we have made! Made even better by the fact that we got 50% off... PLUS another $25 off with a coupon! The boys were in it practically every day last year and it really tires them out... Score!

This is Gavin "hoarding" all the pool toys he could possibly carry.

Then he lines them up (he does this with his cars and trains too.)

Connor practicing his under water skill by picking up the weighted pool toys.

Gavin wanted to go under too but wouldn't move away from the ladder... nor his toys.

The water was really cold so after some persuading they finally came out with shivering lips and all, stating they were not cold! Silly me.

We ate lunch outside all the while asking "can we go back in?"

The also INSISTED they were NOT tired and didn't need any NAPS... just "Quiet Time"... Silly me.

Well the weather lady was correct... and it is raining now! They are not going to be too happy when they wake up!

Hope your having better weather!

Happy Thursday!

3rd Beach

Today we went to the beach. We started off going to Second Beach (why are they named after numbers I have no idea). As I was starting to unpack the car, a lady and her kids were driving by and stopped to let us know that it was really windy and there was alot of red tide (a type of sea weed... that gets into EVERYTHING). She said they were heading over to 3rd beach. She didn't want me to have to unload and bring my boys all the way to the beach to find this out. So nice of her! I had to go check the beach out anyway as we were meeting Grandma on the beach but at least I didn't have to bring all our stuff. Thank you nice lady... whoever you were!!!
We ventured over to 3rd and had a blast. It was a nice change of scenery. It was much calmer there and its more like a lake. Basically it is the end of the Sakonnet River where it empties into the Atlantic Ocean. We also ran into one of Connor's teachers there and had a nice visit. The boys had fun practicing their swimming and playing with their beach toys. Yes... the trucks made it to this beach as well.

I forgot how much I enjoyed 3rd beach. Last year there were jelly fish and Peter had gotten stung a few times so we stopped going. Seems to be all clear this year. Now its going to be a difficult decision as to which beach we will go to next time. They are just so different! hmmm.
Well hope you had a nice Wednesday... weather is calling for rain tomorrow. Booo!

Dinner by the sea...

Tonight we decided to pack... or should I say order up dinner (pizza) and pack up our bikes and headed over to Colt State Park. Can't beat the view and its only about 10-15 minutes away!

They have walking and biking paths through the park and down by the water. We decided we better use the "inside" paths vs. the ones by the water with our little "Kamokasi" Gavin! He is still learning to ride in a group and has a tendionsy to not pay attention to where he is going. Plus this would be less stressful for mommy!

By the time we were getting ready to leave this was the view...

We were also able to cross off "the list" visiting the "Chapel by the Sea". A local website has a list of 100 things to do in RI and one was to visit this chapel. You can check out the list here. It's pretty cool, we have already done a bunch.

Another beautiful summer day down!

Tomorrow's supposed to be gorgeous! "Hello Beach... It's me, Kelly!"

Hope you all are having a great week and great weather!

Last Day of our Staycation...

The boys were loving the room and pool keys and wanted to carry them around.... EVERYWHERE!

So after getting ready we headed down to the FREE Full Buffet Breakfast... which I have to say I wasn't terribly excited about... b/c in the past they haven't been really anything great. I have to say I was really surprised at how good it was here! Now I don't know if part of it was that I didn't have to hear my children whining how hungry because it was instant gratification... you want yogurt... here ya go, you want more eggs... fine, want a Belgian Waffle... sure thing! BTW... it is unanimous... we need to get a waffle maker... they were so good!!!

After breakfast Peter was waiting to ask if we could get a "late" check out and I found the boys watching cartoons... at the BAR!!! Yikes! Visions of the future I don't need right now!

Go daddy and thanks uncle John (he's friends with front desk manager)... we were able to push check out until 2pm!! Hey pool... here we come!!!

Boys practicing their jumping off the side...

Then Gavin was all done and wanted to "go home". Can't blame him... we had been there since 10:30 and it was already almost 1:30!

Plus he wanted to take a "shower" by the pool...

The boys helping dad with the bags...

Then it was off for some late lunch at one of Daddy's favorite spots... D'Angelo's!!!

Hey uncle Chris! Look at this... a Number 9!!!

He is actually saying pleeeeeeeeease... he wants ice cream!

So we stopped by Grandma and Pop-pop's so they could eat their ice cream and play with the cars.

We had a really fun weekend and the boys had a blast! I know we just stayed in state but it didn't feel like it. We couldn't believe what a great place this Marriott was!!! The people were super nice and so accommodating we will definitely be going back!!! You have to love those Marriott miles!!!

STAYCATION!!! (Part II)

We packed up and headed to the the "Island"... Aquidneck Island that is... for Part II of our Staycation!

In the morning we hit the beach for some fun in the sun!

It was a little chilly and windy again today, but I have to say that the water has warmed up a bit. Of course it did not faze the boys one bit... but after spending a few hours there, Mommy was ready to move on (Yes... Peter was shocked that I wanted to leave the beach). What, you ask, could possibly draw me away from the beach?

This...

The Residence Inn in Middletown... as the Boys would say... A HOTEL!!!

The boys were super excited to be going swimming in a big pool again! Can you tell?

Don't ask why I have their Rash guards on... habit I guess. It did finally click and I removed them.

We had the pool pretty much to our selves 90% of the time. It was awesome! So after a few hours in the pool we headed up to change and get the food for the BBQ!

It was so cool! They had a patio with a grill for the guests! Also had nice tables and chairs! So we asked Grandma and Pop-pop to come over so they could see the boys swim and hang out. Uncle Brad & Courtney joined us a little later too. It really was nice because we had the whole place to ourselves!

After dinner and ice cream the boys wanted to go back in the pool... so after making them wait a little while we headed back for some more pooltime! So, is that "1/2 hr after you eat" rule for real? Will you really get a cramp? Or is it just something parents made up to give them a little break? curious? I'm not joking... if anybody out there knows... please share!

So we actually closed the pool down... closes at 10PM... we were in there until around 10:30! Hey its vacation right! The best part of it was you get this after HOURS of swimming....

It was such a fun day! Till tomorrow...
