Easter Catch up!

I know I have been a bad blogger lately. I will try to catch you up to our adventures to NJ and try to keep it short! Yea this may be a long one...

Had a wonderful Easter with family. It was so much fun to see everyone and spend time with them. Even though my cousin Andrew had to work on Easter we were able to spend time with him on this trip (Thanks Andrew for making the time to see us) and my cousin Will was at school (his "entertainment" was missed) lol. I can't remember the last Easter we were all together and it was so nice... thanks mom for having us all! I miss all our family gatherings planned and unplanned from when I was growing up.

Friday night Aunt Carol and Andrew came to visit. Here is Andrew hanging out playing with Gavin and showing him how to play Mario Cart.

Aunt Carol ran out and got tons of Ice cream for Gavin! He was SO excited he was screaming thru the house! Thanks Aunt Carol!!

On the phone... "I love you Daddy and Connor... and miss you... Big Kiss!"

Way too much excitement for one day!

Connor and Peter arrived Saturday night... Yippee! Connor was under the weather but started to feel better. Gavin was excited to have someone to play with. Mom and I were busy getting things ready for the party... so Gavin was just a little lonely with out his brother!

Easter Treats... even the bunny left some stuff for Broghie!

Vogue, Vogue, Vogue

Madonna, Madonna,Madonna...strike a pose!

Gavin had school today so in case he had a party he dressed in his party best! Evidently my shy guy who hates Mommy taking pictures was more than willing to deal with the paparazzi today and decided to start striking poses. So I was more than willing to go along with it! Go Gavin, Go Gavin, it'syour birthday... Go Gavin...

So with his gift in his hand off he went to school:

He did have a party and came home with a basket he made and a gift from Mrs. Dewey... a beach pail with goldfish filled eggs... such a cute idea!

Warning do not look at the mess behind him evidently my cleaning lady hasnt been doing her job! Peter really should fire her... lol.

Connor's party at school is tomorrow then Gav and I are Jerseybound... Wahooo!!! With Peter & Connor to follow after T-Ball on Staurday...

Out with the old, in with the new

Connor has not been feeling so good this week, nothing serious, just a really bad cold. So he has been camped out on "Nani's" bed this week. He has quite enjoyed watching T.V, playing with his cars and sleeping on it. The other night Peter tried to get him to go into his own bed but this bed won out. I do have to agree it is more roomier than his current sleeping arrangements... which is a toddler bed. You can all see where I'm going with this story right?!?!

This is his Toddler bed:

So today after napping we asked him if he would like to have a "big boy" bed? His eyes went wide... and the response was "Yes! Oh boy!". I'm stating, for the record, that I am NOT ready for this! My little peanut in a big bed?!?! Yes, I know I went from my crib, which from what my mother tells me, I couldn't have really enjoyed because I was always climbing out of it, straight into a big girls bed. And yes, I know most kids go from crib to big bed and skip the toddler bed altogether. In my defense, it just happened that the crib we chose goes from crib to toddler bed to full bed. So I just need a little adjusting! I need time, baby steps for me! You are probably also thinking, why did I even say anything to him?!?! Well that would because I thought he would say no! I once got him a new pillow which I thought was a good thing and after 2-3 nights he asked for his old one back. So going with the same theory... we are "trying out" the big boy bed to see if he likes it. We have taken the Trundle Bed from under the day bed in the playroom and moved it upstairs.

I must say... our little "experiment" is not working out so well for me... so far he LOVES it!

He looks so tiny in it!

Guess I am going to be going bed shopping soon! Hey mom -you want to go test some beds out? haha

New way to Communicate...

...with Daddy when he is in his office. No telephone needed here!Nope! No screaming through the house... no yelling from the top of the stairs... or being "super quite" and sneaking down the stairs! Who needs it when you can just do this...

A little confused? Then allow me to break it down for you:
See first you do this...

Which gives you this...

So then you are able to do this...

This is how he has been talking to Peter today. Everything from "Hey daddy... you see my finga?" (english translation = Finger). To which Peter answers "Gav... I can see your whole hand!" This then lead to Gavin "telling" on Mommy... "Daddy... Mommy say me no go outside today... it rainin'."
I guess this does beat them Screaming from the top of the basement stairs... I think? At least until the first time he gets his hand stuck. Ahhh... the joys of working from home!

Bunnies in the house...

Peter found this little bunny running around when he went to pick up Gavin at school... I think I will keep him!

So... I went for my Wednesday walk with Sarah and Susan at 6AM this morning. Yes... I said SIX AM! I know... can you believe it? All I can say is wow! You really do get more accomplished in a day when you are out and about at that time. The kids were fed, bathed and dressed by 9AM. I had all this energy and decided to put it to good use. Cleaning? Nah! Laundry? I don't think so! Easter gifts for the Teachers? BINGO!!! So, when Connor saw the craft paints come out he just had to join in. While Gavin was at school we had our own arts and crafts session here at home. Let me tell ya, it would have been much easier had I received my Mother's "drawing gene"! It would have gone a little quicker...

The gifts aren't quite done yet but the project has at least gotten off the ground and is moving along nicely...

Now here's Connor hard at work making his Easter "presents". I did get yelled at for looking at them though... after all "they're presents Mommy! You're not supposed to see them yet!". I told him I wasn't looking at his artwork.... but that I was just focusing on him. So warning you all... you better not peek at the "Artiest" while he is creating! You just may be the recipient of his masterpiece!

Connor's art project helped me find a good use for some of the Diet Coke caps Peter & I have lying around (Coke Rewards are awesome... free movie rentals!). I used them as mini Paint holders! Perfect!

Yes it was a good day! I even got to go out for some Retail therapy last night with a friend... YIPPEE! It was alot of fun having a girls night out looking at shoes. Even though we both came home empty handed... Shocking I know! No shoes for this "Ma Ma" last night... but it made a good day that much better!

What makes the day sometimes even better is FREE stuff! And because Shaws Super Market sent out an email for free products we got all this for free...

and we still have a few more "free product" coupons that we need to use. Not too shabby.

Oh and a new Bunny!
